Mnemba Atoll

Zanzibar Archipelago Indian Ocean Tanzania

Mnemba is a small private island surrounded by a coral atoll, lying 3 km off Zanzibar's northeast coast. The island hosts just one lodge—&Beyond Mnemba Island—with twelve beach bandas (cottages), making it one of Africa's most exclusive beach destinations. The surrounding atoll is a marine conservation area with exceptional visibility, diverse coral, and regular sightings of dolphins, turtles, and (seasonally) whale sharks. Non-guests can dive and snorkel the atoll on day trips from Matemwe and Nungwi, but the island itself remains reserved for those paying premium rates.
